invitation from Congress

Dear Colleague,

We are delighted to invite you to attend the 13th International Congress of Radiation Research which will convene in San Francisco, July 8–12, 2007 at the San Francisco Marriott hotel. As an added attraction, particularly for radiation oncologists, we are holding the Congress in association with the San Francisco Cancer Conference, which will devote two full days (July 7 and 8) to the latest information on the biology and treatment options for head and neck, prostate, breast, GI and lung cancers. Another new feature of this Congress is that the first day will be devoted exclusively to Topical Reviews covering general areas of interest to radiation and cancer biologists.

The scientific program at the Congress will cover all of the major disciplines of radiation sciences, including physics, chemistry, biology and medicine. In addition we are highlighting special themes that will run through each day anchored by a Plenary Lecture by a world expert in that field, and featuring an Eye Opener, Symposium and Workshop on that theme. These themes will be: 1. combined modalities of radiation and anticancer drugs, 2. molecular cancer imaging, 3. DNA repair, 4. systems biology and 5. stem cells in cancer. In addition to a first class scientific program, we are planning an exciting social program that will include an Opening Reception, Awards Reception in the SF Museum of Modern Art and a Gala Dinner and Party. We also have a full program of day-long tours and activities for accompanying persons.

This will be an outstanding Congress. For the first time most of the delegates will be in the same hotel as all the scientific sessions, which is in the heart of the City of San Francisco within walking distance of great shopping, restaurants, and such attractions as the cable cars and Chinatown.

Please join us in San Francisco, recently voted best US city to visit.

Sincerely yours,

Theodore Phillips, M.D.
President

Martin Brown, Ph.D.
Secretary-General
